Tom Herbert Chief Technology Officer Tom Herbert has more than 17 years of experience in the development and deployment of network applications, and more than 10 years of experience in web and database applications. Since joining Edge in 1995, Mr. Herbert has played a variety of critical roles within the company: developing secure network applications for the United States government, helping develop the first enPortal offering as well as helping to develop and present the enPortal training program, serving as chief deployment engineer, and much more. Before joining Edge, Mr. Herbert served as a software development team lead with the Federal Systems Division of GTE, working on the full life cycle of a network-based fault-management system for telecommunications devices. This system was deployed both internationally and domestically for the United States Department of Defense. Mr. Herbert received a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering with a minor in Mathematics from Pennsylvania State University.
