Health, Dental & Vision Insurance

Employees working at least 30 hours per week may elect to have their choice of a Medical Plan: HMO, PPO or High Deductible PPO through Aetna. All of the medical plans include a Prescription Drug Plan. In addition, employees may elect to purchase a Dental and Vision plan. We offer the Freedom of Choice HMO/PPO Dental Plan through Aetna. The Vision Plan is provided by VSP. Insurance premiums will be deducted on a pre-tax basis bi-weekly from each employees pay. Elected plans for Medical and/or Dental/Vision insurance will become effective on the employees first day of employment. Please refer to the Plan Summaries for specific coverage information.

Life Insurance

Employees receive an insurance benefit equivalent to 2x their annual salary up to a maximum of $250,000. The benefit premium is paid by the Employer; premiums paid by Edge for coverage greater than $50,000 in insurance are taxable to the employee. For example, if the premium for $50,000 in coverage is $50.00 and the company insures you for $100,000 at a premium cost of $100.00, you would pay tax on the difference, or $50.00.

Retirement Savings

Edge has a traditional 401(k) Plan and a Roth 401(k) with Legg Mason in place for all full time employees. Employees are eligible immediately. Employees may contribute up to $15,500 for the 2008 calendar year to the Plan. Employees age 50 and older as of January 1, 2008 are eligible to make additional contributions up to $5,000 for the 2008 calendar year. Edge matches employee contributions to the traditional 401(k).

Edge will match 100% up to 3% of the employees salary after the employee has completed six months of employment. The matching contributions made by Edge are based on a three year vesting schedule; 30% the first year, 50% after the second year and 100% at the end of the third year. There is no matching contribution for the Roth 401(k). Should you have any questions, please contact the Plan Administrator or Human Resources.

Flexible Spending Accounts allow the employee to set aside pre-tax money to be used toward approved expenses. Expenses must be incurred during the plan year or if an employee leaves during the year, prior to the employees termination, to be eligible for reimbursement.

Unreimbursed Medical expenses for the employee, employees spouse, or employees dependent family member may be reimbursed tax free as detailed in the Flexible Benefit Plan up to a maximum of $2,400.00 per calendar year in accordance with I.R.S. regulations. Reported and approved Dependent Care expenses may be reimbursed tax free as detailed in the Flexible Benefit Plan Summary up to a maximum of $5,000.00 per calendar year in accordance with I.R.S. regulations.

These accounts rollover from year to year and can be used even after the employee is no longer employed with Edge.

Paid Time Off

Regular full-time employees are eligible for leave following the end of their probationary period. 5.12 hours of leave is earned per pay period. Thus, each full-time employee receives 16 days of leave to be used for vacation, personal and sick leave. Employees who have completed two years of continuous service shall, as of their second anniversary date, begin to accrue leave hours at the rate of 7.12 hours per pay period up to a total of 23 days of leave per year. This rate of accrual will continue through their fifth year of continuous service. On the employees five year anniversary, the accrual rate will increase to 8.04 hours per pay period up to a total of 26 days of leave per year. Employees may elect to take partial days of leave with the permission of the employees immediate supervisor. Leave may be taken at any time during the year with the concurrence of the employees supervisor. Employees may carry over Paid Time Off into the next calendar year but cannot carry over more than 15 days or 120 hours.

Holidays

As a regular full-time employee, you will be given 8 regular paid holidays annually. Additionally, employees will receive two floating holidays to be earned as they fall on the calendar. Edge follows the Federal Governments Office of Personnel Management to determine the dates on which the days are observed. These dates can be found on www.OPM.gov.

All floating holidays must be used by December 31st of the year in which they were earned or they will be lost. Holiday Leave must be taken on the holiday unless there is a special business need that requires the employee to work. In this instance, the Supervisor will grant the employee another day to use the Holiday Leave. The holiday schedule will be published at the beginning of each year by Human Resources.

finding a new babysitter, stopping smoking, divorce issues, buying a new home to choosing a long-term care facility for an aging parent. The EAP is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Please contact Human Resources for a detailed brochure.

Training

Edge recognizes the potential need for ongoing training. Most training will be on-the-job as a result of interfacing with other team members. Needs for formal job-related training including higher education courses and degree programs are reimbursable subject to management approval. Education Benefit Request (EBR) forms for formal training or classes must be submitted for approval by your supervisor PRIOR to course commencement. No reimbursements for training will be made during the first six months of employment. Training reimbursements made within twelve months of termination must be paid back to Edge upon separation.

Educational Benefits

Edge highly encourages its employees to seek higher education. Each employee is eligible for Educational Reimbursement on the first day following completion of the 90 day orientation period of employment. Therefore, with prior manager approval, the company will reimburse its employees educational course expenses upon proof of completion of the class or course, and a grade of B or higher or a certificate of course completion if a grade is not given. The cost of the class is not taxable to the employee unless the aggregate cost of the courses reimbursed is greater than $5,250.00 (the employee would pay the difference). Tuition reimbursements for classes toward a degree higher than a Bachelors Degree are taxable to the employee. Computer degree/certifications, i.e., Certified Network Engineer, are not taxable to the employee unless the cost exceeds $5,250 per course. Again, any educational reimbursement paid by Edge will be repaid to the Company if the employee separates from Edge within one year from the date of payment of the training.
