Data Alchemist for Law Enforcement
Law Enforcement – Detect,
Monitor, Track, Control, Lawfully Intercept
Edge Technologies’ Data Alchemist provides an intelligent, easily
deployed, configured and operated solution that enables law enforcement
teams and providers to support the lawful intercept and tracking
of various forms of Internet-based online criminal activity, such as:
• Lawfully, track, monitor, detect and report on
actual or potential online criminal behavior, fraud, or cyber-crime.
• Pinpoint the location and identify the behavior of
the perpetrator - potentially before a crime is committed.
• Enable remote detection of multiple suspects and
scenarios from any location.
When deployed in co-operation with internet service providers in
support of the CALEA act, the Data Alchemist system can track, lawfully intercept
and disrupt instances of fraudulent financial activity, malicious
hacking, phishing or industrial espionage, child pornography
transactions or potential pedophile behavior. Data Alchemist works in conjunction
with network elements, e.g. routers, within the services provider’s
Internet delivery infrastructure to support law enforcement agents and
CALEA compliance.
Other forms of cyber-crime and terrorist activity can also be tracked
or detected by building threat scenarios representing undesired
internet behavior. By encapsulating this criminal behavior or potential
behavior into Data Alchemist rules, and utilizing strong activity triggers, the
target behavioral scenario can be deployed across multiple Data Alchemist agents
and used to monitor suspects who use the Internet to conduct criminal
activities. Multiple scenarios can be deployed together and can branch
from one scenario to another, based on observed behavior or the control
of the law enforcement officer. Once a particular behavior is
observed, triggers can be set to capture that thread of activity as
electronic trace evidence that can be used for prosecuting the crime.
