Secure

Edge enPortal™ is the industry's only secure, vendor-neutral network management integration platform. With pre-built Product Integration Modules (PIMs) for common third-party applications, enPortal is a Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) solution that quickly integrates these network management tools and offers advanced capabilities including:

  • Single Sign-On (SSO) and Sign-Off
  • Multi-tenancy
  • Re-branding
  • Role/domain-based access via a secure proxy data.

Control

At enPortal’s core is Edge’s innovative, patented web Content Retrieval System (CRS). Edge's patented CRS facilitates the integration of additional content quickly and securely by letting customers organize application services, multi-media streams, and web-based utilities into any number of user views, without complex software development.

The Edge CRS provides the capability to add, delete, or modify any information passed between the client and back-end applications. This provides granular control over proxied content access, while simplifying security and compliance management, by requiring only a single TCP port through firewalls - regardless of how many applications are accessed.

Another benefit of the CRS technology includes the ability to establish a unified overall look and feel for applications from multiple vendors, effectively rebranding multiple applications into a single solution. In addition, enPortal's CRS capability enables Managed Service Providers to impose multi-tenancy capabilities on applications lacking native multi-tenancy support.

Integrate

Edge’s constantly growing and unequaled library of PIMs transform traditionally risk-filled development efforts into a simple configuration. The enPortal PIM approach mitigates risk, accelerates deployment, provides quicker time to value and lowers ongoing "care and feeding" expenses.

Edge PIMs provide built-in hooks from enPortal into individual third-party packages. PIMs enable enPortal to recognize user names, security specifics, and a wide variety of other variables already established within the third-party application - so the administrator can act on those variables through enPortal. PIMs also provide pre-built channels through enPortal so the data from the underlying application can be easily accessed through the enPortal dashboard.

One of the challenges associated with integration is bringing together information from a wide variety of packages, and then making different types of information available to different types of users - both internal and external. enPortal's Dashboard View Integration capabilities provide an at-a-glance view of user-centric service health with the ability to drill down for further details.

The enPortal Dashboard View:

  • Transforms event data to service information
  • Transforms component events to service impact
  • Integrates data from service-oriented applications
  • Provides simple visualizations of information derived from disparate data sources

Using the enPortal Dashboard View Integration capability, customers can optimize the data they're already receiving by creating automated responses across multiple applications, based on multiple types of alarms or alerts.
